The answer to that question is: The Blessed Mother gave the Brown Mt. Carmel Scapular to a humble man named, "St. Simon Stock", and gave that promise with the Scapular. Notice she said, WHOSOEVER, that means anyone that wants to wear it. You do not have to be a Catholic to get that promise. The promise was given to secure your place in Heaven. You might say it's Eternal life insurance.

We sell a little book called, "The Garment of Grace", that tells more about the Scapular.

For those who don't know what a Scapular is: What is a Scapular?

There are so many different colors of Scapulars, which one should I get, what do they all mean, where did they originate from? Each Scapular that we produce comes from approved apparitions in the Catholic Church, which by the way were all before Vatican II. They are not just made up, there are promises attached to each one. The Green Scapular was given for cures and conversions and does not have to be worn. Click on the link, "What is a Scapular" below to learn more. We carry a wide variety of Brown Mt. Carmel Scapulars. I am traditional, are you sure these are valid? Yes, these are all valid scapulars. A Brown Mt. Carmel Scapular originally didn't have a picture on it. You can have any picture or no picture as long as it is 100% Wool and not encased in plastic. The reason we make Brown Scapulars with different pictures is because we encourage all to wear a scapular and some people have devotion to different Saints or have devotion to different apparitions of the Blessed Mother or Jesus.

I heard there is a Medal Scapular. Is that valid, does it contain the promise? There is a medal Scapular. It was approved by the church, however we found interestingly enough that there has never been an approved miracle in the Catholic Church except with a 100% wool Scapular, so you be the judge (well actually God is the only judge, rather use common sense.)

What is a Five-fold?

Are these Scapulars +Blessed+? The answer is No. A Scapular only needs to be blessed when you are first enrolled, it's a life time enrollment. If you want an extra blessing then by all means have it blessed again. It must however be blessed and enrolled by a Catholic Priest.

What is an enrollment? How do I get enrolled? We include an enrollment paper with each scapular we sell. Any Catholic Priest can enroll you by saying the prayers on that paper and placing the Scapular over you. It is a one time enrollment. You need not be re-enrolled unless you cannot remember ever being enrolled. Getting enrolled in a Scapular guarantees you the promises attached and joining in the Confraternity of the Blessed Mother.

Are the medals blessed and exorcised? The answer is Yes. We put them on for free. A Catholic Priest Blesses and does the St. Benedict Exorcism over the St. Benedict Medal and Blesses the Crucifix.

I have an old scapular that was my mothers, is that valid? It is hard to answer that except that if it was made before 1964 it probably is. However, you can test scapulars to see if they are wool by taking a small piece and dissolving it in bleach. If after a day it is completely gone without threads left in the jar then it is.  I am not saying to cut your scapulars up, that is just how we do it here to ensure all the wool we get in is really 100% wool.

There are three things the Devil cannot stand: The holy name of Jesus, The holy name of Mary and the Brown Mt. Carmel Scapular (which snatches so many from Hell)

Do I have to say the Little Office of the Virgin Mary to get the promise? No, you do not, you can have a priest give you permission to substitute saying the Rosary once a day or some other pious act.

Do you carry the Little Office of the Virgin Mary? No, we do not. However, a customer recently told us that you can get this at Barnes and Noble Book store.

I'm not Catholic but I want to wear the Scapular, what if I can't get to a priest to enroll me? Our answer is put it on anyway and wear it faithfully, try to get to a priest to enroll you if you can. Otherwise we leave you in the hands of the Blessed Mother and Jesus, they often work miracles as we have seen so many times with the Scapular.

We hope we have answered your questions, if however there is something we did not answer, email us and we'll do our best to answer it. God Bless and wear your scapular faithfully.
