You see people
wearing these wool necklaces all over the place, sometimes with different
pictures, sometimes different colors. Sometimes you see one hanging out of
someone's shirt, other times you see one draped from a rear view mirror in
someone's car. Is it a lucky charm? What is that thing anyway and what's
all the hype about?
Well, I wouldn't say it's a lucky charm more like a shield of supernatural protection given from Heaven. A Scapular consist of two pieces of wool connected by two cords hanging over your shoulder one square in the front and one in the back. Almost like a shield.
(The Green Immaculate Heart of Mary Scapular has either one cord or none and is the only Scapular you do not have to wear; as it was given for cures and conversions.) The only requirement of this scapular is that you must give it in 100% faith to the person you want to be either cured or converted. It is by this faith that the Blessed Virgin herself will use to perform these miracles. The other condition is that you (the person giving it) must say at least once every day with 100% faith is this prayer: Immaculate Heart of Mary pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. You do not say Amen as this is a continuous prayer. SCAPULAR: In Latin this word means shoulder bone
The most famous Scapular is the Brown Mt. Carmel Scapular given from Heaven by the Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Simon Stock in the year 1251. The Virgin Mary promised that, "Whosoever dies wearing this Scapular will not suffer eternal fire" , so in lay mans terms Anybody and that means of any race color or religion who would wear Mary's garment would not ever go to hell if they die wearing her Scapular. A very awesome promise if you think about it. Now this does not mean that you should go out and sin thinking that no matter what I will go to Heaven. You see one thing we know here at Rose Scapular is that Mary would like you to try to live according to ones state in life, for many people that wear her scapular but do not obey God's commandments end up some how or another without his or her scapular. There are many types of Scapulars, however we only make Scapulars that were given from Heaven and approved of by the Roman Catholic Church. The Brown Mt. Carmel Scapular was originally given from Heaven without a picture. By Church law the Brown Mt. Carmel can have either no picture or any picture providing it be made of 100% wool. Some people make and sell Scapulars of different kinds of material and even encase them in plastic, however the Scapulars given from Heaven are suppose to be 100% wool and not encased in anything. Furthermore there has not been a miracle approved of in the Catholic Church concerning a Scapular except from a Wool Scapular. One example of this comes from the apparition of the Red Passion Scapular, which is on the outside of the Five-fold Scapular or Five in one as some people call it. Not only did Jesus Himself describe the picture he wanted and not only did He want it made in wool He requested it hang by red wool braid. Which by the way we make here at our factory. We pay very close attention to the details given from Heaven, as we believe if they told us to do something it must have extreme importance in Heaven. Has there ever been a Saint concerning a Scapular? The answer is Yes. His name was Isidore Bakanja who lived in Africa in the 1900's. Isidore worked for a man who hated Jesus. Isidore loved Jesus and loved to wear his Scapular. He even wore it on the outside of his clothes so that everyone could see it. His Boss beat him for wearing it and wanted him to take it off, he would not. Isidore died wearing his Brown Mt. Carmel Scapular. Pope John Paul II made him a Saint. Why do I have to wear a Scapular, can't I just keep it in my pocket? The Scapular was given from Heaven By The Blessed Mother with the instructions to wear it in order to obtain the promise. What is this promise? "Whosoever dies wearing this garment shall not suffer eternal fires". Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Scapular promise.
